We can also facilitate all other types of microbiological testing outside our scope of accreditation. Any additional analyses not performed by Biomarine, i.e. Vibrio and Clostridium, are subcontracted seamlessly to one of our accredited partner laboratories.

Chemistry: Food Products

Biomarine is accredited to provide basic chemistry analyses as listed below. These analyses have often been a necessary part of assenting the overall quality of various seafood items, specifically moisture in fish and moisture/protein (HP ratio) in scallops, Total Volatile Base Nitrogen (TVBN, TV-N) as a chemical indicator of spoilage, and pH of sushi rice.

Shelf-life assessments

We perform several variations of refrigerated shelf-life determinations, custom to your needs. Generally, our shelf-life studies assess the product for microbiological quality and organoleptic quality at each test interval. We work with you to design a logical shelf-life study to meet your marketing and financial needs.

Sampling and On-site Assessments

Some projects require a third-party inspector to be present at the warehouse. When this situation is necessary, often due to an insurance claim or regulatory work, Biomarine can provide inspections and sampling at the cold storage warehouse.  Contact Us for availability and pricing.

Any additional analyses not accredited are subcontracted seamlessly to one of our accredited partner laboratories. Subcontracted analyses include: Histamine, DNA species identification, heavy metals, antibiotics, sodium and nutritional analyses (nutritional facts panel).
